Position Summary: 

Incumbent is responsible for providing Clinical Pastoral Services, including chaplaincy, pastoral care and counseling, and consultation with patients and their family members.  Assists individuals to integrate their religious beliefs, attitudes, and responses for the constructive management of their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.  Evaluates individual needs for spiritual guidance and counseling, and initiates individual or group programs to meet those needs.  May be called upon to interact with individuals in crisis.  Enhances and maintains good community relationships, particularly related to soliciting and utilizing volunteer pastoral services.  Provides input and oversight to the coordination and direction of the Clinical Pastoral Services program, other Medical Center Chaplains, and volunteer Chaplains.  Develops and appropriately utilizes a Spiritual Care Advisory Committee which includes leaders of local faith based institutions.  Working in coordination with the Human Resources Employee Assistance Program, may be called upon to give pastoral care and crisis counseling to staff of the Medical Center.

 

Salary Range: 

 

Rate    Minimum  $25.00   Midpoint  $33.72   Maximum  $42.43

 

 

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge about various faith groups

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Master‘s degree in Divinity or equivalent degree program

Ordination as clergy person in good standing with his/her faith denomination

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification as Chaplain through an approved Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (APC, NAJC or NACC)

Previous experience working as a Chaplain in a healthcare setting
