Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Director of Patient Education, the Health Education Specialist is responsible for designing, promoting and evaluating the Wellness and disease management education programs for UCI Medical Center and UCI Medical Group.  The educator will apply learning principles in providing patient/family education in the inpatient and outpatient setting, and will participate in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of staff educational programs.  Serves as a role model and resource to colleagues, staff, patients and students.

 

Salary Range: 

 

Rate    Minimum  $69,600.00    Maximum  $124,600.00

 

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Bachelor‘s of Science in Nursing or Health Care related field

Current, valid California RN Licensure or Certified Health Education Specialist

Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills

Excellent planning, organization and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
