Position Summary:
Manage emerging infectious disease, highly resistant organism and seasonal influenza preparedness, including coordination with multiple departments and administration to develop & maintain preparedness plans, develop employee/physician communication and education, and maintain equipment and supplies for training & preparedness. Work with the Department of Epidemiology & Infection Prevention and Department of Emergency Management to actively coordinate internal and external information gathering regarding threats and situational status of UC Irvine Health. Serve as a biosafety officer for UC Irvine Health to coordinate biosafety risk mitigation. Responsibility & oversight includes both inpatient and ambulatory sites.
Salary Range:
Rate Minimum $80,000.00 Maximum $144,300.00
Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System , COM, UCI Research Administration and other UC System campuses
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills sufficient to identify needs, conduct research and develop innovative proposals, solutions, and programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Interpersonal facilitation and communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with executive leadership, managers, supervisor, employees, employee representatives, Office of the President, and the general public
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Proficiency in computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to draft, edit, and produce a variety of complex documents such as reports, correspondence and policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified in Infection Control
Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and CDPH requirements for infection prevention and emergency preparedness
Knowledge of UCI policies and procedures
Training in Lean Six Sigma change methodology
