Position Summary: 

Sr. Pharmacist functions as an expert, providing clinical expertise to staff in the Ambulatory Care areas of service. Develop and conduct specialized education/public information classes in the areas of service as needed. Will also perform the day to day responsibilities of drug distribution, processing and therapeutic intervention as needed.. Undertake tasks and projects to improve clinical and financial outcomes and participate in research. Also responsible for actively precepting pharmacy residents, students, technicians or interns as assigned by the supervisor. Incumbents will lecture to pharmacy staff and other medical professionals within and outside of the organization and publish in medical journals. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. Typically focused on one or more key areas with more project assignments than staff pharmacists.


Salary Range: 


Rate    Minimum  $142,986.24    Maximum  $157,873.68


Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Current BLS or ACLS upon hire

Excellent planning, organization and time management skills

Expertise in Pharmacotherapy, Residency preferred

Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy

Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy


Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Practice Pharmacist license preferred (APH)

Pharm.D. highly desirable

Successful completion of acute-care based pharmacy residency plus 3 years ambulatory care pharmacy experience or completion of a residency or fellowship in ambulatory care, managed care, primary, community pharmacy through an accredited pharmacy residency program.
