Position Summary: 

The Director is responsible for supporting all external strategic partnerships and affiliations for UCI Health. The Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and serves as the primary strategic interface to business areas outside of UCI Health. The Director will liaise between internal UCI Health leadership and partner/affiliate organization leadership. The position carries significant organizational responsibility for framing positive public perception of UCI Health in all relationships with external incumbents.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to manage multiple projects, setting priorities and advancing results in a fast-paced environment.

Direct communication experience in an academic healthcare, health sciences, or other clinical/research-related enterprise.

Effective report writing, presentation skills, and written and verbal communication skills in English to a broad and diverse audience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience developing and executing strategies and plans that are aligned with client goals or business objectives.

Experience in complex, decentralized organizations, such as an academic medical center, medical school or major research university.

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Proven ability to quickly develop credibility with various/all constituencies

Understanding of the culture and organization of an academic medical center and/or major research university.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the business of health care, as well as a substantive understanding of science and medical issues, and the reporting of such.
