Position Summary: 

Incumbent is responsible for directing the Medical Center's financial planning program, the operations and capital budget process and decision support services. Provides vital financial analysis, planning, evaluation and performance monitoring services that support the organization's short and long term tactical and strategic planning efforts. Required Qualifications:

Ability to accurately analyze complex financial and accounting data and effectively communicate it to a wide variety of executives, faculty, and other constituents in lay terms

Ability to develop financial and operational systems to accurately monitor and control organizational activities

Bachelor's degree

Effective report writing and presentation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Five or more years management experience in finance in healthcare

Significant experience with and understanding of health care information technology, including clinical information systems

Significant experience with decision support systems (Eclipsys Epsi, MedAssets, or McKessen)

Strong technical knowledge and skills in financial analysis, cost accounting, management accounting, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare economics

Strong working knowledge of process improvement principles and FOCUS-PDCA methods

Universal knowledge of general and fund accounting


Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership experience in an academic medical center or complex teaching environment

Master‘s degree in business administration, health administration, CPA, or other relevant degree program
