Position Summary: 

The Pediatric Staff Development Professional is responsible for the design and implementation of education programs and professional development of nurses in their assigned nursing service; focused on clinical outcomes and practice development.  Will work closely with department managers and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) on the educational needs assessment and orientation programs for staff, in the assigned nursing division.  Ensures that competencies and skills are current and relevant for the nursing staff.

 

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Basic Life Support

Computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office Products, including Word & Outlook

Demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care setting

Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively

Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission Requirements

Minimum of three years demonstrated nursing experience in pediatric critical care

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Experience in adult education

Masters of Science in Nursing

Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
