Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Director of Client Services and the HAIS Lead Analyst, incumbent is responsible for day to day operations support for the Perioperative Department. Incumbent is responsible for support of the hardware and software environments which are critical for the day to day operations of these departments. This is an on site support position that will be expected to support the environment across all platforms including but not limited to, application support, hardware support and troubleshooting, network support and troubleshooting. Incumbent will also be responsible for assisting in the guidance of the department, from a technical level with new applications and technology initiatives.

 

Salary Range: 

 

Rate    Minimum  $30.22   Midpoint  $40.78   Maximum  $51.34

 

Required Qualifications:

4+ years desktop support experience in a networked business environment

A+ Certification

Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing

Ability to independently problem solve Desktop issues

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with emphasis on information systems, business administration, or healthcare related field with course work in systems analysis and development.

Extensive experience with Windows XP/Vista

Extensive understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

General knowledge of PDA and Phone devices

General understanding of scripting languages

Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols

Knowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer system

MCP Certification

Must carry a pager/phone and provide on-call support for IT related issues

Requires directly related experience as a desktop support technician and demonstrated skills at an advanced level

Some knowledge of Thin client and other terminal related technologies

Some knowledge of open source operating systems such as Linux

Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal and/or external customers

Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory

Understanding of DNS, DHCP, WINS

Willingness and ability to work occasional weekends and evenings

Working knowledge of Mac OS

Working knowledge of Windows Mobile OS, Symbian and related technologies

Working knowledge of wireless network configurations and limitations related to a clinical environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Blackberry Server Administration experience

MCSE Certification

Programming experience in Visual Basic
