Incumbent accesses data from several systems to develop repository of information; responsible for data sourcing, ongoing analyses, maintenance, refreshing and integrity of hospital billing database. Develops standard and ad hoc reporting in support of departmental processes, regulatory compliance requirements and operational decision-making. Independently troubleshoots issues, resolves or escalates as warranted.
Commensurate with Education and Experience
3 - 5 years Revenue Cycle experience
Ability to read and understand intent of regulatory documents to be able to assess impact on current operational processes
Ability to think critically and problem solve independently and/or collaboratively as the situation dictates
Ability to work independently and take initiative to identify priorities and manage workload accordingly
Detailed knowledge of registration, billing and collections processes and data requirements.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem
Minimum two years’ experience working in a hospital based environment utilizing an automated Patient Accounting system.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of healthcare automated systems utilized in a Business Office environment. E.g. Meditech, EPIC, GE)
Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and develop and recommend new processes as needed
Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize key information clearly and concisely
Advanced knowledge of database design, information modeling, and SQL
3 - 5 years in database management, including developing and maintaining database software, providing data entry, and generating reports.
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Project management experience
Green or Black Belt, Lean Six Sigma
