Position Summary: 

Oversees and manages the administration of Respiratory Care Services. Coordinates educational and/or research programs; monitors compliance of respiratory staff with patient care and service delivery standards. Formulates department objectives, policies and procedures. Responsible for program development, productivity analysis, collection of statistical information, budget impact analysis and management of goals and objectives.



Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to read and correctly interpret complex regulations, contracts and policies

BA/BS in Respiratory Care or related field or equivalent combination of education, licensure and relevant experience.

Current Basic Life Support Certification

Current California State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Minimum of three years work experience as a respiratory care practitioner

Minimum two years supervisory/managerial experience

Must be a two year graduate of an AMA Respiratory Care Program and be Registered (RRT)

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to plan strategically
