Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Clinical Manager of the Cancer Center, provides leadership and coordination of the Cancer Program to ensure compliance with all requirements for an approved Cancer Program as set forth by the ACoS, Commission on Cancer. Provides leadership and coordination for the data collection, quality management, retrieval and analysis functions for the Cancer Registry at UCI Medical Center. Provides data to the medical director, administration and oncology faculty to support the planning, development and implementation of new programs to enhance the medical center's cancer program. Participates in the development and implementation of oncology related in-service programs to enhanced the new programs for various community and hospital intermediaries. Serves as liaison between the medical center's cancer program and such organizations as the Cancer Surveillance Program of Orange County, the California State Department of Health, and the ACoS, Commission on Cancer.


Salary Range: 

Rate    Minimum  $73,000.00    Maximum  $131,500.00


Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to work independently and manage timelines

Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)

Data analysis and research skills

Demonstrated advanced computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Knowledge of ACoS, Commission on Cancer (CoC), and Cancer Program Standards

Minimum 5 years experience working in a Cancer Registry unit

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Previous lead or supervisory experience

Skill to implement and evaluate automated processes and flows

Strong organizational and prioritization skills to lead projects and manage complex and diverse workload within assigned timeframes

Strong working knowledge of medical insurance plans and managed care in an Ambulatory Care setting


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Training, development and presentation experience
