Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Associate Director, incumbent is responsible for financial planning and analysis.  Contract modeling and expert consultation on all facets of revenue modeling and planning as well as Contract Modeling systems parameters/processes ensuring accurate planning/forecasting information including maintenance of EPSi and MeKesson structures.  Development of the reporting and modeling payor hierarchy, reporting and modeling scenarios as well as training and education to other staff.   Assists Senior Medical Center executives and Contracting Department in analysis of high level forecasting and experience review for the Medical Center.  Develops and  analyzes and summarizes high level decision making data for Senior Executives, committees and University-wide bodies/agencies (OSHPD, HCFA, etc).  Analyzes financial and clinical impacts of business alternatives.  Develops strategy and methods for providing financial management and planning information to senior executives, managers and clinicians. Serves as a key resource to the Medical Center for all high level Decision Support request.


Salary Range: 


Rate    Minimum  $65,600.00    Maximum  $117,400.00

Actively participates in the development and analysis of medical center strategic plans, operational goals and objectives, business initiatives and policies and procedures; Communicates effectively with upper management, peers and other disciplines within the hospital, outside agencies and other entities to ensure prompt and proper exchange of information and resolution of issues; Consults appropriately with internal and external organizations for accurate data sources; Develops information and modeling to create effective recommendations to supervision/management; Develops detailed project timelines and action steps and provides periodic progress reports. Adjusts schedules as appropriate; Prepares proformas for the effectively analysis of new proposals or initiatives. Identifies creative solutions and prepares alternative recommendations as appropriate; Effectively provides consultative advice in area of expertise; Makes recommendations for improving existing processes based on analysis and follows through as appropriate; Provides sound advice using good judgment to interpret policy matters of consequence; Troubleshoots unresolved problems.



Always maintains records related to operations and services that are complete, accurate, available and in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements; Collects and assembles analytical and factual data appropriate to assigned problems. Effectively maintains information in formats that facilitate reporting needs



Appropriately plans, coordinates and implements recommendations; Appropriately reviews and recommends exceptions to policy; Writes effective analytical reports and descriptive summaries. Determines best formats for data and results presentations



Leads the management of the Contract Manager in EPSi, all modeling, maintenance and updates; Participates in internal and external trend analyses and effectively identifies corrective measures as needed; Develops effective revenue models and forecast for use by management with in the EPSi system; Participates in the effectively analysis clinical/physician profiling and comparative analysis; Effectively makes internal and external contacts as necessary to obtain or validate data; Performs qualitative studies and comprehensive complex analyses. Prepares summary reports containing conclusions; Researches facts, evaluates alternatives, and interacts with others as appropriate to achieve effective problem resolution.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Demonstrated advanced level of analytical skill

Ability to anticipate questions and address information needs by providing comprehensive analyses

Demonstrated knowledge of Contract Management Systems or Decision Support Systems and subsystems

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent education and experience

Must possess general knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies (per diem, per case, capitation, indemnity, etc)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word

Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically

5 years of experience working in a hospital based environment working with reimbursement and cost data and working with all areas of the Hospital in review of service line and payor analysis

Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff and senior management


Preferred Qualifications:

Two to five years of experience working in a hospital based environment
