Position Summary: 

Incumbent provides routine informatics support for the Quest System and Ancillary Departmental Systems in the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute.   Incumbent provides support for the hardware and software environments necessary to ensure effective operations, and gives guidance relative to new applications and technology initiatives.  Supports Image Stream and other AV needs.

 

Salary Range: 

 

Rate    Minimum  $28.50   Midpoint  $38.43   Maximum  $48.37

IS:  Works closely with multi-disciplinary users to understand the specific informatics requirements and to ensure the systems meet their needs.

IS:  Provides application support for assigned departments and work groups. Supports the hardware and software environments across all platforms, including but not limited to, application support, hardware support and troubleshooting, and network support and troubleshooting. Works closely with the Applications team assigned to these areas to coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders, system users, HAIS, and/or vendors to investigate problems and to devise solutions.

IS:  Serves as system support to maintain the integrity and operation of clinical systems.  Monitors the systems to ensure reliability, accessibility and issue management for all users.

IS:  Assists in the guiding departments, from a technical level, with new applications and technology initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

General understanding of scripting languages

Knowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer system

Extensive understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

4+ years desktop support experience in a networked business environment

General knowledge of PDA and Phone devices

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Prior experience supporting and configuring bio medical device interfacing to documentation systems

Understanding of DNS, DHCP, WINS

Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal and/or external customers

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Working knowledge of Thin client and other terminal related technologies

Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols

Must carry a pager/phone and provide on-call support for IT related issues

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Extensive experience with Windows XP/7

Working knowledge of AV technology

Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory

Working knowledge of wireless network configurations and limitations related to a clinical environment

Willingness and ability to work occasional weekends and evenings

Working knowledge of Capsule Technology Data Capture software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Some knowledge of open source operating systems such as Linux

Working knowledge of Mac OS

Ability to independently problem solve Desktop issues

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Blackberry Server Administration experience

Programming experience in Visual Basic

Prior experience supporting Biomedical Device Integration

Prior experience supporting end users in the Clinical environment

MCSE Certification
